About the Journal

Perspectives in Mathematics and Applications (PERMATA) is a high-quality, peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by Kreasi Pustaka Mandiri (Krestama), with biannual issues in June and December, and has a registration number e-ISSN 3110-3847 (media online).

PERMATA provides a dedicated platform for researchers, academics, and practitioners to publish rigorous theoretical and applied mathematical research. The journal covers:

  • Pure Mathematics, including algebra, analysis, geometry, topology, and number theory.
  • Applied Mathematics, spanning computational mathematics, mathematical modeling, optimization, statistics, and operations research.
  • Interdisciplinary Applications, integrating mathematics with science, engineering, economics, and education advancements.

PERMATA aims to bridge theory and real-world applications by fostering the exchange of ideas across disciplines, contributing to the ongoing development of mathematical sciences.

Open Access Policy

Perspectives in Mathematics and Applications (PERMATA) provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. All articles are available on the internet to all users immediately upon publication. Non-commercial and commercial use and distribution in any medium is permitted, provided the author and the journal are properly credited. This is in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) definition of open access.

Copyright and Licensing

Copyright: Authors who publish with this journal agree that they retain copyright and full publishing rights without restrictions. The authors grant the journal a non-exclusive right of first publication.

Licensing: All articles published in PERMATA are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0). This allows others to share, copy, distribute, and adapt the work, even for commercial purposes, as long as appropriate credit is given and derivative works are shared under the same license.

Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review by at least two independent external experts to ensure scientific quality and relevance. This process ensures that both the reviewer and author identities are concealed throughout the review process. Manuscripts must align with the journal's focus and scope, adhere to the author guidelines, and demonstrate significant scientific merit or novelty.

To uphold academic integrity, all manuscripts are screened for plagiarism using Turnitin and other detection tools before the review process. A manuscript will be rejected immediately if it exceeds the maximum similarity threshold established by the Editorial Board.

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on originality, methodological rigor, relevance, and contribution to the field. While the editorial team strives to communicate initial review decisions within 4 to 8 weeks, the timeline may vary based on reviewer availability and manuscript complexity.

The Editor makes the final decision regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection based on the reviewers' recommendations and editorial requirements. The Editor-in-Chief has the final authority over the publication schedule and ensures the diversity and thematic balance of each issue.

Digital Archiving

PERMATA is committed to the long-term preservation of its digital content to ensure secure and permanent access. The journal utilizes the following systems:

  • PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN): To digitally preserve all published items via the OJS plugin.

  • LOCKSS and CLOCKSS: Our journal content is also stored in these archival systems to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries.

Sponsorship and Fees

  • Sponsorship: Perspectives in Mathematics and Applications (PERMATA) is fully supported and published by Kreasi Pustaka Mandiri (Krestama).

  • Article Processing Charges (APCs): PERMATA does not charge authors any submission fees, editorial processing fees, or article processing charges (APCs). All processes from submission to publication are free of charge.

History

Perspectives in Mathematics and Applications (PERMATA) was established in 2025 by Penerbit Krestama in collaboration with ADMAPETA and UIN SSC. The journal was founded to address the need for a high-quality, open-access platform for researchers and practitioners in the field of mathematics, both in Indonesia and internationally. It received its e-ISSN (3110-3847) in its first year and continues to strive for excellence in mathematical publications.
