Author Guidelines

Perspectives in Mathematics and Applications (PERMATA) is committed to publishing high-quality research in mathematics and its applications. To maintain the academic integrity and consistency of submitted manuscripts, authors must adhere to the journal's submission guidelines.

These guidelines provide essential instructions regarding manuscript formatting, structure, citation style, and ethical standards to ensure that all submissions meet the journal's requirements. Authors are encouraged to carefully follow these guidelines to facilitate the review and publication process.

A.  General Requirements

To meet the minimum standards of Perspectives in Mathematics and Applications (PERMATA), submitted manuscripts must adhere to the following requirements:

  1. Manuscripts must be written in English.
  2. Manuscripts should ideally be at least 10 pages to maintain depth in mathematical analysis and numerical results. Submissions below this length must show substantial novelty and high density of content.
  3. The manuscript must include an English abstract (100–200 words), followed by 3–5 keywords.
  4. Authors should use reference management tools such as Zotero, Mendeley, or EndNote to format citations properly. All citations must be in-text, and the bibliography should follow the IEEE citation style.
  5. The manuscript must be formatted using the official manuscript template.

B,  Manuscript Structure

Authors should prepare their manuscript following this structured format:

  1. Title: The manuscript title must be concise, clear, and informative, reflecting the entire content without acronyms or abbreviations. For mathematics, the title should highlight the central concept, theorem, structure, or application studied.
  2. Abstract: The abstract (150–250 words) must summarize the research purpose, theoretical framework, or methodological approach, and the main findings.
For pure mathematics, emphasize theoretical novelty (new theorems, lemmas, generalizations, or proof techniques).  For applied mathematics, highlight modeling approaches, computational methods, simulations, and practical implications.
The abstract must also state limitations and originality/value. It should be written in one paragraph without citations or abbreviations. Authors must include Mathematics Subject Classification (MSC) codes and relevant keywords.
  3. Section Structure: Manuscripts should follow this structured organization:
    • Introduction: Provide background, motivation, and clearly define the research problem(s). Identify gaps in the literature and explain the contribution.
    • Preliminaries/ Methods: For pure mathematics, this section (Preliminaries) presents definitions, notation, and foundational results required for the study. For applied mathematics, this section (Methods) describes the conceptual framework, models, instruments, algorithms, simulations, or data analysis techniques employed.
    • Main Result/ Results and Discussion: Present the core findings clearly, whether in the form of theorems, lemmas, propositions, or mathematical models. Results should be supported by tables, figures, or illustrations where relevant. The discussion must be integrated with the results, explaining their significance, connections to prior research, and potential generalizations or applications.
    • Conclusion: Summarize the main contributions, limitations, and directions for future research.
    • Acknowledgment: Recognize contributors, funding sources, or institutional support.
    • References: At least 80% of references must be from reputable journals (Scopus/WoS/Sinta), with DOI or URL. Prioritize recent literature (last 5–10 years).
    • Appendix (optional): Provide supplementary proofs, examples, or supporting material.
  4. All citations in the text must appear in the reference list, and vice versa.
  5. A fluent academic English editor must proofread manuscripts.

C.  Figures and Tables

  1. All figures and tables must be numbered and titled.
  2. Figures should have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
  3. Use Insert Caption in Microsoft Word to add numbering and titles to figures and tables.
  4. Figures and tables must be self-explanatory, meaning they should be understandable without referring to the main text.
  5. Tables should be created using the Table function in Microsoft Word, not as images.

D.  Mathematical Notation

  1. Use Equation Editor or MathType to write mathematical expressions.
  2. Number equations that are referenced in the text using the format Eq. (1), Eq. (2), etc..
  3. Ensure consistency in mathematical symbols and notation throughout the manuscript.
  4. All theorems, lemmas, and propositions must be numbered sequentially and accompanied by complete proofs.
  5. Adopt internationally recognized notation standards (e.g., AMS style, MSC classification) to ensure clarity and global accessibility.

E.  Plagiarism Policy

Submitted manuscripts will be checked using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 30% will be returned to the authors for revision.

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the terms of the CC BY-SA 4.0 license and retain copyright of their work.
